Kinoppy joined the agency by talking to Johnny-san directly and after some formalities (audition) with no problems. In 1987 he debuted as part of “Hikaru” in 光GENJI and remained in the group even after 2 members left, and then were renamed as 光GENJI SUPER 5. His catch phrase was “Happy Lucky Kinoppy”. In 1994, he also collaborated with 赤板晃 -Akasaka Akira- in the group AKIRA & KOHJI and released one single. Only he and 佐藤敦啓 -Atsuhiro Sato- currently remain with Johnny & Associates. Nowadays, he mainly appears in stage plays. Recently, he was part of Marching J.
